Overview & TL;DR

The Challenge: Corporate social greetings often fall into generic stock templates. The goal was to establish elevated, custom-crafted visual directions for SJ Innovation across global observances that reflect the company's creative identity and technological edge.

My Role: Sole Designer — conceptualized, illustrated, and produced creative suites across diverse artistic mediums (vector, painterly, photo composite, and high-contrast silhouette) under SJ Innovation's brand guidelines.

The Method: Developed modular thematic series starting with Martin Luther King Jr. Day, exploring five distinct aesthetic expressions while preserving brand recognition through consistent typography, logo lockups, and color harmony.

The Problem

Most B2B tech companies treat commemorative holiday posts as an afterthought, relying on repetitive stock vectors that dilute brand presence. SJ Innovation required high-craft, original commemorative designs that honor each occasion's cultural significance while reinforcing the brand's design standards.

Process & Implementation

Multi-Disciplinary Artistic Explorations

Instead of settling on a single visual formula, explored multiple artistic languages—vector geometry, digital impasto brushwork, double-exposure photo compositing, and monochromatic silhouette—to give each commemorative greeting distinct emotion and visual weight.

  • Vector Narrative: Constructed flat geometry with crowd silhouetting to emphasize solidarity and unity
  • Expressive Brushwork: Layered digital oil strokes with cobalt and gold accents to evoke historical gravitas
  • Archival Photomontage: Blended authentic historic photographs with duotone gradients and subtle typographic watermarks
  • High-Contrast Silhouette: Stripped away extraneous detail for a stark, black-and-white visual focused purely on the iconic podium posture
